Overview of Types of Insurance

Medical insurance

Review your Company's Benefit Packet to see the coverage and the rates.

health insurance

This plan pays the doctors, hospitals, and providers for wellness exams & treatments for sickness and injuries.  You will pay co-pays, deductibles and a percentage of the cost of the medical treatments

dental insurance

This plan provides coverage for teeth cleaning, exams, and repairs.  This plan pays the dentist.  You will pay deductibles and a percentage of the cost of the dental treatment.

vision insurance

This plan provides coverage for eye exams, glasses and contacts. You will pay co-pays and a percentage of the cost of the vision services.

critical illness

This plan pays a lump sum benefit to the Employee & covered family members up to $20k for a diagnosis of Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke, and other covered illnesses.  There are no restrictions on how the Employee uses the cash benefit.

accident insurance

This plan pays cash benefits to the Employee and covered family members as a result of an accident injury.  Hospitalization, ER/Urgent Care, broken bones, physical therapy, and more are covered.  There are no restrictions on how the Employee uses the cash benefit.

coverage plus insurance

This plan pays cash benefits to the Employee and covered family members for over 13,000 medical conditions.  There are no restrictions on how the Employee uses the cash benefit.


disability insurance

This plan can pay a benefit if the Employee is unable to work due to sickness or injury so the employee can continue to have income to help pay bills.

short term disability

Plan example:  2 week waiting period and 3 month benefit period.  Employee could receive a benefit if they were sick/injured and unable to work for at least 2 weeks.  The benefit could be paid up to 3 months.  

long term disability

Plan example: 90 day waiting period and benefits to age 65

Employee could receive a benefit if they were disabled and unable to work for at least 90 days.  The benefit could be paid if they continued to be disabled to age 65.


life insurance

This plan provides a lump sum benefit as a result of the Employee or covered family member's death. This is designed to provide money to pay medical debt, funeral expenses, and living expenses.

whole Life with long term care

This plan provides a death benefit and/or an be used for Long Term Care expenses.  

term life

This plan provides a death benefit for a specific amount of time.
